Walker Murdoch Law began in Southland in 2005, when Cleland Murdoch and Jeff Walker — two experienced, like-minded lawyers — joined forces with a shared belief that there had to be a better way to practise law.

They wanted to move away from the expensive, stuffy and impersonal model of legal practice and create something different: a firm where clients felt known, understood and genuinely looked after.

Cheryl Officer, and later Pip Walker Stevens, joined the directorship and helped shape the modern Walker Murdoch Law.

While we’ve grown and evolved, that original idea remains at the heart of who we are.
